James P. Harding

James (Jim) P. Harding, 68, of La Crosse passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with ALS.
Jim was born in La Crosse on January 8, 1953 to Eugene and Jayne (Wanner) Harding. Jim attended Aquinas High School in La Crosse where he graduated in 1971. He married Kay (Jacobson) Harding on May 18, 1974.
Jim worked in the beer business for many years. He was known as the “Budstud”. For the past 3 years Jim and Kay spent the winter months in Cape Coral, Florida, where they enjoyed the sunny beaches and boating on the Gulf of Mexico. The summers were spent on the Mississippi River where they stayed at Waters Edge Campground in Stoddard. He also enjoyed watching the Packers and playing fantasy football.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kay, his children, Kelli (Chad) Gehweiler of Elk Mound WI, Kersten (Lee) Bryhn of Trempealeau WI, and Mark (Daya) Harding of Minnetrista MN, grandchildren, Jackson and Madisyn Gehweiler, Kellen and Harper Bryhn, Cora and Lewis Harding, and two step grandchildren, Ashlee Stanke and Allyson Bryhn and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by brother in-laws Tom (Carol) Jacobson, Jeff (Susie) Jacobson, and Fred Wolf.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Jayne Harding, sisters Pat Fuchsteiner and Renne Wolf.
There will be a private family service held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, please direct any memorials to the ALS Association Wisconsin Chapter at www.alsawi.org.
The family would like to thank the Gundersen Health System ALS clinic, infusion center, palliative care, and hospice. Special thanks to Jason from hospice for the excellent care and support at the end of Jim’s journey.

My deepest condolences to Kay and her Family.. Jim was a great guy. Warm hearted who wouldn't hurt a flea unless you were trying to tackle him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Family. Rest In Peace.
