Paul I'd like to golf Saturday. I shoot Nazis and Vice Presidents named Dick Cheney.Fitz I don't keep track of my scores it would just result in carpal tunnell syndrome.

Fitz, I don't recommend saying that about politicians. What IS politically acceptable-"You shoot Nazi's and sometimes to the Right and sometimes to the Left, depending on the wind and beverage consummed". Golf tee times are between 10 and 12 on the 16th. Get a foursome and sign up at Forest Hills.

William Bettis

The tee times start at 10:30 to 11:30. We had to reduce the number of tee times due to demand. . As of now the 10 :30 and 11:00 tee times are taken. That leaves 10:38, 10:45 , 10:52, 11:07 , 11:15 ,11.22 and 11:30 tee times open.

First come first serve. Remember the dinner starts at 5:30 for cocktails.

Paul, I am coming back to La Crosse in July to play an organ recital on the 22nd at the Shrine.  Could I send out an invitation to our classmates through this forum.

Thanks, Dennis

Hi All,

I just wanted to say that Dave Eagan's passing is so sad!  Not unlike the first classmate to pass after H.S. graduation, Dave's was the first after our "60th birthday".  I didn't know Dave all that well. He was a quiet guy who always had a funny joke or one liner. That's what I remember.  After the 20th reunion, we had a golf outing at Cedar Creek. Dave left his clubs at the Pro Shop. So i hauled them to the Radisson for him. Kinda funny he didn't realize his clubs were missing when he left the golf course.

Anyway, God's Peace Dave!

Nancy Weigel (Engebretson)

Good day to All. I am asking for y'all's help finding one of our classmates, Nancy Keller. At a very early class reunion, there were prizes given for whom ever came from the furthest away and many other reasons. I just knew I would win for coming the furthest but I didn't. I do know that Nancy Keller won for something and she got a pair of awesome knee socks, just charming! I begged her to give the pair to me. She was kind enough to share and gave me one of them which I have kept it all these years. No comments please. I have hoped all these many decades to give it back to her someday because what good is one sock anyway.  I have it right here with me. It is maybe 2 feet tall, gold, blue and white going from top to bottom. In the blue middle section is AHS and then going from top to bottom below is BLUGOLDS. Just charming. OH, I already used the word, sorry. Anywho, does anyone know where she is? Who were her bestest friends at school?

Now I am remembering going to maybe 4 reunions since 1971. First one was at 5 years, at Pettibone shelter? Myrick? I have a picture. Once at a hotel? Once at Aquinas which I do remember well because my favorite oldest sister, Liz Dwyer, came with me. Party Crasher! But, the best one was at a shelter and there were so many of us from Saint Thomas More school. This was the one reunion where we joined up with Central at the same time. I dropped my camera and the batteries fell out. No comments please. Oh, memories of those Central/Longfellow boys. Mike, Jay and John. Sandra Bendel and Ron LaFleur............I could get in trouble so I will stop here.

SIDEBAR-My Mother told me that the STM school building is being torn down and a reception hall or some such is being built in its place.

Back to the reunion, I asked for an announcement for STM classmates to gather for a picture. James Sackmaster is in that phtoto. It was the year that Julie passed. It was 1991. Sue Weiland was there. She came up to Kathy in the bathroom and asked where Julie was not knowing that she died about 2 months earlier. Sad. Many memories of Kathy I have. I am thankful for these memories. Please let me know what you may know about Nancy Keller and this lonely sock. Enjoy the Day. Nancy

Thanks for the great story Nancy. I hope you 2 can connect.

If anyone else has a story or life event they would like to share with the class, please feel free to post it here.

Hello again. I do hope more of you all talk about your memories from the past and the reunions. A memory that came to me is of Mary Ann Sauer. Last day of our Senior Year, in the commons, and what she was doing when Father O'Whatever his name was walked in. She had no fear.

Hi to all STM classmates.

Just wanted to let you know that yes, the school is going to be coming down.  This week-end is a "good-bye" to the school celebration.  There will be photos from the classes and memories to be shared with a pot luck lunch after the 10:00 mass.  Unfortunately, I have to go out of town to a wedding and am unable to attend, but I wanted to share this with all who called that their grade school many years ago!

Take care all of you,

Nancy Sorenson Johnson

Sorry to hear that our old grade school is no longer going to be around.  Everytime I'm back in La Crosse, I try to go by the church and school to "spark" the old memories from those days.

Nancy Weigel, hope you are able to find Nancy Keller, sorry I can't help you out there.

Nancy Sorenson, thanks for the info on STM, to bad it's sad news.

I know that we've taken group photos of our STM classmates at some of our more recent reunions and enjoy viewing them from time to time.

Hope to see everyone at the 45th.

Nancy, if you can't remember Father Altman's name then how do you remember what I did?

09/27/15 08:54 AM #33

Nancy Weigel (Engebretson)

Hello there, I do remember Father Altman. Was he ever at STM? Do YOU remember what you were doing that day?

09/28/15 07:46 AM #34

Mary Ann Sauer (Paul)

Good Morning, I don't think he was ever at STM, but my mind is going.... I don't know if it was no fear or just trying to collect on a dare! My 88 year old mother is anxiously waiting for my old classmates to fill her in.

09/28/15 08:45 AM #35

Mary Ann Tracy (Erickson)

Are you guys ever old. Ha! Father Altman did end up at STM, long after Aquinas and not in our time.  Sorry to hear about the school being torn down. Lot's of memories there.  Mary I don't know about the incident that Nancy is talking about, but I do remember skipping church and spending the time at your house. :-)  Say hi to 88 year old Jean for me.  Nancy, that was a cool TV reporton your Mom and the group of ladies she golfs with. I hope you got to see it.
